just got my 1st kayak, a perception carolina 14. now i am looking for advise on a rod holder, one to start, no need to confuse things. i see rod holders mounted just in front of the cockpit. is that the way to go? i plan on using a spin cast or spinning reel, i have both. i see attwood and scotty holders which model is better for my application?

both Scotty and Ram.Placement is whatever works best for you.Just be sure it wont interfere with paddle strokes.Many SIS yaks have enough room behind the seat for a few rods.
