Team River Runner is seeking volunteer kayak guides in the tri-county area of southern Maryland (Charles, Calvert, St Mary’s) for a new chapter to serve military veterans and their family units. This program provides coastal/touring paddling opportunities on flat water venues like Mattawoman Ck, Patuxent R, etc. TRR brings rec boats and gear for the program participants. Volunteers are asked to bring their own boats/gear. Our first SoMD kayak outing will be Sat Aug 18 from 11:00AM-2:00PM. Volunteer training 11:00-12:00 followed by 2-hour kayak session guiding veterans. LOCATION: Smallwood State Park, 2750 Sweden Point Road in Marbury. We anticipate paddling every Saturday thru October out of Smallwood State Park or Gilbert Run Park in Charlotte Hall, on the lake. Please help us get this SoMD chapter launched!
