Hi. So far, I’ve met with KeelEazy with blue backing. Does anyone of You know what is this KeelEazy with brown backing? Is this the original product? Picture below:

The release tape has gone through a number of iterations. If the adhesive is clear like what I believe you show in your second picture that flavor of KeelEazy is best for smooth gel coat like finishes. There is a putty like adhesive version which adheres better to uneven surfaces like scuffed polyethylene and blow moulded plastics that have a texture to them.

KeelEazy makes two versions, one for composites and the “original,” which is for ABS and poly. Perhaps that’s the difference in the backing color. http://www.keeleazy.com/product/keeleazy-2/
I recently read at another site that Gorilla tape works nearly as well and is much easier to put on and take off, so that’s what I plan to use.
