Georgian Bay: Tobermory to Lonely Island

Here’s a link to a trip report in the Chicago Area Sea Kayaking Association Blog covering a 2009 trip from Tobermory, across the Main Channel of Georgian Bay and out to Lonely Island (and back):

If anyone else has paddled to Club or Lonely Island please let me know.

Great trip, my third on Georgian Bay (links to earlier reports in the post).

This part of Georgian Bay is a tough but wonderful paddling environment. I respect those waters as much as any in the Great Lakes.

Lonely Island
In July 2011, I led 2 other friends on a 66-mile kayak trip between Tobermory and Fitzwilliam Island, with stops on Flowerpot, Bears Rump, HALF MOON, Lonely, Club, Fitzwilliam, James, Lucas, and North Otter. My trip reports will be in sections by day, and may be read (with photo links) on my Google blog at http://bvanhise.blogspot.com/

They are long and very detailed, but I’ll also try to post here on paddling.net. - Bob VH

I love
I loved the trip I did in Georgian Bay. We did a short trip from Byng Inlet to the Bustard islands. The lighthouse and range lights on Bustard Rock were particularly scenic.
