I’m looking for a lake that has the ice come off it fairly early in the season in Alberta, within 2 hours of Calgary or Edmonton. Any suggestions and info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

How early are you looking for?
There is normally open water on Wabumun lake, near the generating plants that use lake water for cooling. Paddling in the past was available by Easter, but there is always a variation.
