Paddling up the Missouri River on the Lewis and Clark Trail

A year ago I got some good advice on this forum when I asked about paddling up the Missouri. Thanks!

In 2016 I hiked and paddled the Lewis and Clark Trail from the Mississippi in Illinois, up the Missouri River, over the Rockies, then down the Clearwater, Snake and Columbia Rivers to the Pacific.

I hiked the first 800 miles of the Missouri, then paddled upstream the next 1,500 miles. It took nearly six months to cover the whole 3,300 miles.

You can find my journal, route map, gear list, lots of photos, and a highlight video, by clicking here. Thanks again!

Very, very cool!

Great photo! Followed you the whole way via your blog! One of the best paddling blogs of the summer. Way to go!

Thank you spiritboat and paddletothesea!

paddletothesea, did you paddle the Mississippi or Missouri perhaps? Do you have a link?

Great trip! I will definitely check your journal, etc. Here is my account of the 47-mile stretch through the White Cliffs in central Montana; https://bigskywalker.com/2017/03/26/white-cliffs-canoe-adventure-scenes-of-visionary-enchantment/
