Advice For New Guy

Pulled the trigger
Thanks to everyone for all the help and advice. Bought a couple used Emotion Glides from a local outfitter. Gave $275 for each boat, but that included a brand new set of Emotion paddles for each boat.

My son and I took them up to the lake today for about two hours and had an absolute blast! Even though it was only 64 degrees and misty we loved 'em. I was really impressed how stable they were. Can’t wait until they open the Chattahochee River back up after all the flooding we’ve had here in Atlanta.

Thanks again for everyones help and suggestions!

good on you
It’s a great sport and a great way to spend time with your son, doing something you both enjoy, while seeing the natural world and getting some exercise at the same time.

Be careful
Flood waters are full of nasty sewage/contaminants and large objects (trees/debris) that have washed from God-knows-where and could be dangerous traps (strainers) if you get caught in them.
