Aleutian power face question

The One Handed to Me… Like Lead
Is the Aleut more forgiving when it comes to technique? Is that it’s ‘thing’?

You might say that.
It seems to be more forgiving in a way that’s been mentioned above. The ridge helps shed the water equally over the blade surface so the canted stroke is not needed. Of course this still does not mean it’s better than a GP.

Further stirring … LOL … People
are building and using paddles without even knowing how to hold them … THAT is funny ( IMO )

LOL!
That’s another thread that could definately go on and on.

It is called…
…pluralism of opinions!

Greater exclusivity
With the growing popularity of GPs more and more people recognize them and know the name.

If you have an Aleutian paddle and someone comments to you “That’s an interesting Greenland paddle” you can snottily reply.

“It’s not a Greenland paddle, it’s an ALEUTIAN paddle.”

Bingo!
Hard to put it in a better way!

That works
It’s true that we are seeing a lot more GP’s on the water these days. Time to boggle them further with something even more unusual.

We do get pay backs at times. I have heard the ocassional grumpy comment “nice 2x4” Some folks just don’t understand. It’s like we were part of some kind of cult. I enjoy having that affect on people. ;-]
