Any water tribe vets?

Attitude
When I look at the photos of the finishers, I see happy folks of varying ages; some even look a bit grandfatherly. None of them are wearing a cape or have a lightning bolt on their chest, so I have to conclude they are all “regular folks” in pretty good physical condition.

Yet while physical conditioning has to be important, mental attitude has to be equally important.

Thanks for responding. Gives me lots to think about.

It would suprise you…
I attended the “skippers” meeting two years ago as a ground crew… Looking around there were no capes and a surprising number of grandfathers with a sprinkling of young bucks. All were very friendly but you could tell they were all serious and focused.

It takes a lot of preparation and planning along with training to even start this race.

Going to be a big EC field
There are already 100 entries for the EC 2015. Including a 14-foot Wilderness kayak (Class 3).
