Bell Magic rigging

KUC
Kim,

Lets just say its out of the living room and still not finished.

She used the ruse of grandkids coming for a visit- wise people don’t get between a grandma and grandkids.

idle hands
Jim,

You’re right about the idle hands-look at my Paddlers’ Place Discussion Forum post under “canoeswithduckheads”.

spare paddle
I’ve attached d-rings (available from Bell) towards the rear flotation tank with the screws that hold the gunnels on. Then I loop any kind of shoelace material (leather looks nice) to the D-rings. One can lay the blade of an extra paddle on top of the loop or snug it within the loop for extra security. Then I use the velcro “figure 8” available from Piragis on the rear thwart to secure the handle end of the paddle. Spare paddle is then handy and secure…you can carry the boat with the spare paddle in place. You can even skip the d-rings and just back out a couple of gunnel screws near the rear tank, loop some string around them, and retighten. Works great!
