Best Anchor Weight

Lewmar and grapple anchors
have 2 attachment points. One at the “hook” end and one at the end of the shank. You use a shackle at the “hook” end and tie your anchor line to that. Then you lay the line along the shank and use a piece of ~20lb mono-filament fishing line to tie the line to the hole at the end of the shank. Tied this way, should the anchor get stuck, you can tug on the rope, break the mono and the line will pull the anchor by the “hook” end which reverses the direction of the pull on the “hook” and the anchor releases from the bottom.
