Hauling Kayaks
1960 Cadillac hearse. Runs forever, Looks cool, Nobody gives a hearse a ticket,park wherever you like. You can sleep in it, Contract it out to your local funeral home in the winter. And best of all, When your time comes to leave this earth, climb in and have all your friends rent a bulldozer and you're good to go. Off to paddle heaven. VF

I have had a bunch now a 2006 Jetta TDI carries 2 boats my 93 Golf Diesel hauls 3 sea kayaks no problem. (NDK Explorer, Capella, Makkovic) I carry 3 people and all the gear for winter paddling.
When we go the the May 24 Kayakers Retreat my sons WW boat his and my wife’s guitars and mandolins go with friends. They bring the kayak gear, boats, camping gear, son and wife. They can bring a tin whistle: a small tin whistle, the low D whistle has to be lashed to the kayak.
The VW 's are great. Subaru has some great AWD cars but your Volvo is going to be a hard act to follow.
Oh: Fuel prices will be going up again.
