That was the roll that instantly worked for me in a WW boat and works fine in a sea kayak too. If done properly it is pretty much effortless with no strong push down or a big hip snap. C2C is harder IMO as a first roll. A greenland paddle or a paddle float stuck on the end of the paddle help a lot initially. When all fails - get an instructor or a friend to help -;)

The hand roll is n ot necessarily the first roll you want to learn though -;)

I agree
I never liked the Kayak Roll video, I thought I was the only person who didn’t like it. Nice to know someone else feels the same way.

I still like “Grace Under Pressure” I know it’s a bit dated but that guy has amazing form and it clearly shows you what a C to C roll should look like.
