"Best Urban Kayaking Spot...."

I did the 200km Rideau Canal / Rideau Waterway last summer. Hope you can get back to it, as it’s kind of special. All the locks are operated by Parks Canada staff, and most are manual crank. Only the canal part in Ottawa (the area you skate on in the winter) is truly urban though.

I hope to get to some of the Montreal areas @kayamedic mentioned this summer. Especially the Îles-De-Boucherville National Park and the Lachine Canal, which is near where I grew up, and has recently been designated a National Historic Site.

As for Quebec City, they do some crazy paddling there in the winter. Yeah… current and tides.
