Boston, Massachusetts Coast?

Uh… Country. Not county… Nothing east of Washington County in Maine…

Celia, things got worse… Complications called scavengers

Yeah, it is a typo. I know where the ocean starts. I will go fix it now.

On tonight’s CBS news there was a video report on the traveling shack. Apparently diplomacy won and it’s back in Maine, per the report. Is it?

Canadian scavanging laws were the concern that was named in that first article I found, though at that point they had not heard from specific scavangers. Kayakmedic’s article indicates that some folks did get to the shed. One of the individuals quoted in it owns taking away some pieces before the guard was set up by the RCMP and a Lubec volunteer got there to witness things.

The person named in the article, who was outspoken enough that there is no hiding to be had, stated that she would give stuff back. The concern embedded in there is that she got to the structure with a chainsaw and was taking away wood. So whatever the sea did to the building the scavangers aggravated.

At this point the building is being guarded and there is an arrangement for enough for Canadian and US contractors to go get it. http://13wham.com/news/offbeat/storm-blew-historic-building-to-canada-maine-is-getting-it-back

Hopefully the people who took stuff from it, including the unlikely possibility that its journey out to sea left behind any tools, will be strongly encouraged by the Canadian gov’t to give it back. Certainly the waitress who had herself quoted all over the place would be well-advised not to argue about it. But some damage has been done, probably can’t get around that.

This is supposedly what will happen once the hard feelings settle down
