that is most certainly not the type of versatility I’m looking for. The weight isn’t bad at 57lb, but I have no desire to row it, it’s too short, and too beamy. It would just be too slow of a boat for what I want, and not track straight enough on the larger waters I would paddle.

Thats a sharp looking canoe and sounds to be very well suited for your needs. If light weight isn’t a top priority for you, I would suggest the tuffweave layup. Wenonah uses vinylester resin, and composite builders know that this combined with CAP(chemically activated polyester) creates a very strong, flexible and abrasion resistant layup. My next canoe from Wenonah will be a tuff weave.
