whats the best oil
So what is the best oil and application method? I have boiled linseed oil and danish oil. Is one better than the other?

I am a fan of Tung oil myself for canoes and paddles. I had problems with linseed turning nasty looking colors. Pure Tung Oil thinned with mineral spirits.
