Canoes, where they are made, and what they cost with tariffs

…and Checkmate.

Not bad for a Gunsmith…

Thank you mjac.
Yes I am a gunsmith, but I have done many other things professionally in my life. I learned a lot along the way, and I still want to keep learning. I’ll stop when life stops and God takes me home.

Learning is both fun and frustrating because the more you learn he closer you get to an understanding of how much more there is you might learn (which is another way of saying you realize how little you know. )
But the 1 thing that I believe is the single most important thing to learn, as soon as you can, is how to know who the liars are, and the real reasons they keep lying.
Learn that and the path to most other areas of truth becomes SO MUCH easier you can’t describe it.
The most printed, most popular selling book in the history of the earth tells us all how and why liars lie. Such information is not hidden.
But liars will tell you the truth is not true, from the days of creation to today------ and at every opportunity. If you can give hard arguments to their assertions they do not have good counters so the ALWAYS fall back on censorship in one way or another, be it insult, false accusations, screaming and shouting or simply removing the written words of truth any way they can.
Why?
Because when truth can’t be debunked their only tactic is to attempt to remove it.

You honestly raised some points in the first post I had not thought of and reiterated some points in the second that I have.

The title of this thread wasn’t inherently political. It was asking about the cost of canoes under potentially new tariffs. Tariffs seemed to trigger those that wanted to argue politics rather than cost. Not what many are here to read about.

This reminds me of the thread about “Sea kayaking and the current state of affairs” where politics is considered bad form and that it doesn’t belong during skills training. I happen to agree, and it shouldn’t belong on this site either. Of course, politics became the central focus for the few that have trouble refraining from it.

I happen to like folks of all different persuasions. A shared interest helps to bring us together rather than separate us like politics so easily does. I feel this site suffers because of it.
