Can't sit still for too long

sitting in comfort
I agree with greyak.

I got rid of the stock seat and backband in my explorer and replaced it with a low foam seat I carved of minicell and a “roller’s ramp”/sacral support also of minicell. I’ve never been more comfortable and can paddle all day with no discomfort. Other than the normal suffering that is kayaking, anyway! ; )

Achieving dynamic seated comfort is a combination of outfitting and “getting used to it”–stretching helps lengthen hamstrings; so does paddling. Good (upright, slightly forward) posture helps bunches too. Having the foam ramp that contacts and supports only the small of my back helps every aspect of paddling that requires posture and rotation. The foam seat that doesn’t compress nerves helps too, but you have to be willing to experiment some to get it right for you. Stock seats are made to look comfy on a shelf, IMHO.

plastic moulded bucket
with a fairly high back (way too high for performance paddling) that has adjustable angle.

There is also a very light neoprene half cover on the seat.

The seat was bolted to the sides where the flanges come down from the coaming.
