You are probably not fat, just not used to a snug fit. It’s all relative. Takes me a good few seconds to squeeze into my HP surf kayak. Same with old Nordkapps with keyholes that I loved paddling. Straight legs and squirm into em! This thread is indicative of the huge variation among paddler perspectives…that’s all. Fortunately there’s a lot of excellent product for people to choose from.
I think the trend in sea touring is definitely for bigger cockpits and looser fits.
