Cooking on a Canoe Trip

Great point on cooking over SW driftwood. I don’t normally primitive camp in coastal areas as I am “allergic” to sand getting everywhere, so I never considered it.

In this video I cook my burgers directly over some dried Black Willow branches. Turned out pretty good. Just built up a fire then let it die down to mostly coals. This little grill folds up nice and compact. We enjoyed it. Quick Trip on the Neches River - YouTube

The Bitty Big Q folding/compact camp grill is a great grill to carry because it is so compact when folded up and then unfolds to a very decent size grill. We’ve made great use of ours since buying it earlier this year.

Yes. I had been bringing a very light and compact charcoal grill, but I didn’t like having to pack along the charcoal. This little thing works great and takes up less space. Burgers turned out great!
