private instruction is best
I teach rolling lessons in the summer - on a small, calm, lake with an easy sloping shoreline where I can stand in the water and teach the necessary movements. I think it’s always best to have a private 1-on-1 instruction is water that is calm (either a pool/pond/lake, etc). I charge $35/hr, usually spend about 2 hours for the lesson. I hope you can find a good place to find good instruction!

We just need to find something like that in our area of NC. The water conditions you describe are what I’m looking for. Prefer not to learn rolling in dark, murky water . . . probably goes back to early childhood experiences in Florida (watching for alligators or sharks; stingrays, oysters, moray eels, etc.).
