In the field of geotextiles, these same two categories exist. In that field, "felt" always refers to a NON-woven method of construction, and "woven" fabrics are never called "felt". In fact, it is extremely important to use the correct terminology in this case, even though the two materials are sometimes used for the same purpose.

Thanks for all the info, I ordered the 655 Kit as it specifies for Polyethylene. Going to pass on the skid plates.
