Try earplugs
and earmuffs so you can’t hear them complaining.

I like the Etymotic earbuds as well and find that an Mp3 player is far more effective at eliminating noise than regular ear plugs. Does especially well with Whippoorwills.

A Dog Collar
I use the one that spays citrus toward my dogs face when he barks but since he is a bad snorer, you may opt for the one that zaps him

good stuff guys
We’ve used those for skeet shooting for years. Cheap and very effective, a friend of mine living in downtown Philly uses them to drown out the street noise.
