Entrapments I’m aware of…
…were not the result of hooking a shoe or anything like that. Either the boat was trapped at an angle to the current where the paddler was forced against or into the cockpit by the force of the flow (considerable in ww) or exit was blocked by the bottom or obstacle, or the kayak wrapped around an object, trapping the legs inside.
