Personally I prefer the Suwannee wilderness trail from Fargo, GA to Branford, Fl. Much of it is shaded on the upper end. The Wilderness trail had state river camps with screened sleeping, hot/cold showers in AC bathhouses and many springs. The springs are 72 degrees year round. We often do summer paddles there where you stop and swim in a spring to cool off. It is also a limestone lined river with enough sand bars and springs for frequent stops.
The river camps are free to paddlers.
