That “moderate” looks pretty fast in my inexperienced eyes. Thanks for posting the video.
I’ve not seen anything like that in the one harbor I’ve paddled in, which is also the deepest natural harbor on the Great Lakes. Generally I’ll cut across the harbor to head out but when the 198-foot “Blue Moon” arrived for a visit, I couldn’t resist paddling over to look. I was a flea on the water next to it.
Now, if a seiche came rolling in, all bets are off.
I’m quite content that our fresh coast doesn’t have tides.

We have small ones on Jocassee that seem to come from nowhere, but we also have mild seismic activity.
The seiche that hit in 2014 left a mess. At 1:38 the video briefly shows the harbor I cross to round Harbor Point and head north. Supposedly the surge was eight feet. While the harbor is protected, that much water would have made things lively around the docks.
