FOAM BULKHEAD / FOOTREST?

yes to the footbar
it comes standard with the Mirage kayak line. With it you get the advantages of a huge foam block but the adjustability of footpegs AND the race car pedal control over the rudder. It is solid as a rock compared to foot pegs.

I’ve done the foam block in 2 boats and I’ll tell you that the 15% angle (thanks bnystrom) is critical for distance paddling.

The real beauty of installing a foam block is that you are taking control of the kayak on a personal way-making it yours…there is nothing wrong with modding out your boat with what works for your intentions.

I can see that the foam block may not be as forgiving for say a kayak that will be used solely for distance paddling on calm water BUT if you are an active roller, paddling in conditions and want a solid consistant place to slam your feet against, the foam block is without compare.
