foot powered bilge pump

replacing foam bulkhead
I’ve taken my foam bulkhead out and used it for a pattern to cut out a CDX plywood blank. The blank fits good but I haven’t glassed it in yet. The idea of tipping it to reduce volume appeals to me. Tilting it would require the pump to be mounted on a wedge to get it vertical, making the installation a little more complicated.

I’d also like to replace the rear bulkhead and tilt it forward so it will drain better upside down. Still thinking about both so have delayed glass work until I make up my mind.

Someone suggested fiberglassing the foam bulkheads in place. That would require some buildup of glass to get it stiff enough to handle the stress of a footpump installation. Don’t know if its a good idea though.
