Semi-dry tops are open at the neck.
You’d need a dry-top to keep water from entering at the neck line.
Your best bet is to always dress for the water temp and to be prepared for a capsize as it’s always a possibility when you’re on the water. It doesn’t matter what type of paddling you do.
