GP AND Euro paddle?

weeds and GPs
Weeds are a problem for any paddle, but the GP is the least troublesome that I have used due to its smooth shape with no abrupt features.

I deal with kelp and other thick weeds with a GP by using a vertical stroke and take a slightly longer stroke than normal (blade will be well behind my body at the exit). I wait a moment before I lift the active blade from the water. This allows the momentum/glide of the kayak to push the weeds and they slide cleanly off the blade tip so you are not lifting a ton of “spinach” on the next stroke.
