My S&G Osprey(early version) is wider than the Hemlock boats with less freeboard. The hard chine gives it a very different feel.
It's been great for its intended purpose -- taking an 80-pound dog out on the water -- but it just feels too wide for me to paddle empty. I have a hard time getting a clean stroke without inducing a bit of outside edge.
