Inland , which Ocala is, often gets colder than the coast. Just don’t expect the rivers to freeze. It won’t be cold long. It was 30 in Jax this morning.
You are too far north for it to be raining iguanas .
I paddled year round on the Upper Delaware River in PA. Wore a wetsuit with booties, gloves and a hood. Attached a 50 safety line to the Kayak. Did capsize drills by grabbing the line and swimming to the first place I could stand. Pulled the boat to me, dumped it out and got in. Never had a problem. What was STUPID AND FOOLISH was paddling close to icebergs. The flip over, spin around and slide in without warning. All you see is the top but they are huge under the water. Keep far away and take no chances.
Ah, the ‘arctic’ coast of FL (NE).
35deg and 15kn breeze out of NW 2 days ago; 50, light wind yesterday; 60, no wind this morning.
(all pre-dawn paddling on St Johns, Pottsburg Creek on the 35 day)
