The tube director may be used as a thermal control as well.

camelbak products are
available at any good bicycle shop…

or try www.performancebike.com

damn dude
thats pretty hard core.

I replied to your email
Same night you sent it - with some pictures. I’ll try to resend - and will repost text here and put pics on webshots (link at end):

-------------------

Not sure what pack you have, or what PFD, but here goes:

Camelbak makes a “CamelClip” clip for attaching to clothing - and it’s cheap:

They also have the “Tube Trap” for straps, but also wedges nicely in a PFD lash tab.

and there is a “Tube Director” that lets you control the bend on the tube:

Trouble is finding them! Best bet locally are the higher end bike shops. Serious cyclists don’t like fumbling around for tubes either. Downtown Bicycles in downtown Ft Lauderdale (on Federal just North of Broward on the NE corner of 4th ST across from the 7-11) has a pretty good selection of Camelbaks, parts, and accessories. They would be likely to have the clips and probably the tube director too. 954-761-9920

To find other dealers:

http://www.camelbak.com/ - but they mostly list a ton of Sports Authority stores (limited selection and rarely any accessories), Peter Glenn, and some other bike shops. They also have links to online shops.

Other than those clips, it sort of depends on your PFD. Lots of things you could rig yourself to hold it. Look at the pictures on the links above and you should be able to come up with something similar if you can’t find one.

I have the Tube Trap on the front of my PFD - got it off the shoulder strap on one of my Camelbaks (you should have one if you have a pack with shoulder straps). Perfect size to wedge in my lash tab and it won’t come out on it’s own. See attached pictures.

Probably only works that easy if you have a lash tab centered like that. Maybe you could pin or sew one of the clips on where you need it. The clip holds OK and comes out easy enough to not be a hazard (clip is open ended, so tube can be popped out easy if needed).

PS - UX has been wet only 3 times. Just haven’t had the time - but I did buy it ahead of schedule. No hurry yet, still just a toy to torture myself with for now! I added a hatch/bag up front. Found and fixed a bad leak where the rudder tube connects to the hull. Water tight again now. Resurfaced the leading edge of the rudder too - it was a little rough, and re-did the patch Bruce did under the rudder (his didn’t set). That whole area had taken a beating from the prior owner. All good now - but the rudder is bent down a little. I’m afraid I’ll break the blade if I try to straighten that - and it’s doesn’t really affect anything so I’ll leave it alone.

Got that Mako yet?

Update IceMan
Checked today and Downtown Bicycle has both clips ($1.99), the thermal covered hose, and the flexible hose director in stock.

They don’t have the extension I was looking for (and the others kits don’t have the double ended connector).

Thanks, Greyak

Tomorrow, I'll go to Downtown Bicycle.

Have you tried homedepot for the double ended connector? I got one there to connect the Tube Director with the tube from the Unbottle.

Iceman

Hey, Iceman or Greyak
How long is that 100 oz Camelbak “unbottle”?

Will it fit crossways in a 24" wide kayak? I’m thinking I could store it behind my seat.

Tilley Hydration Hat
Looks cool, women compliment favorably, and holds 256 oz. Short drinking tube tucks under your ear. In summer, just wet the hat and water stays cool due to evaporative cooling.

Thanks
I’ll check - I got some clear tubing there several moths ago when trying to go longer - but didn’t look at fittings.

I used to just put my bladder in backwards with my Cammelbak Classic pack - and get another foot of tubing! Newer models - and the Unbottle - have the big exterior fill opening and don’t work like that.

Wish they’d make a pack with the connection welded on the bladder sideways (or backwards) and a hole in the pack at that end for it to come out! Tube length would be fine then.

Yeah - fits fine
with room to spare. Not too long. If too wide to lay flat - put it on edge.

Best one they have for in cockpit (and prabably best for ondeck too). Just wish they’d make a pack with the connection welded on the bladder sideways (or backwards) and a hole in the pack at that end for it to come out! Tube length would be fine then.

you would think igloo
and a kayak manufactuar would get together and create a sot with a cooler that inserted into the yak under your legs.too simple of an idea not to do it.

Surf Skis
There are several SurfSkis (SOT’s) that have that option.

Iceman
