The stupid part, Jim, is that I was only
half joking.

Well Tom,
I suspect some on this board are too young to remember that jingle.

And a curse on you for dragging it out of the dim recesses of my memory!

Yea, but I…

...kinda miss that 'lil diddy of a jingle with its cranial-fold-clingin' ability, as opposed to those garish LED boards straddlin' the interstate and beltway bitumens, glarin' out their, "HAPPY MEMORIAL WEEKEND - CLICK IT OR TICKET" demand.

But, as usual, I digress.

"Put your cell phone down.
Stop tailgating that clown.
You're do'n ninety in a sixty,
and if you please, now buckle up."

Oh! And after your bonzai-of-the-banshee-down-the-bitumens this weekend or whenever, may you have a languid, happy and peacefully tarried paddle, you all.

paddle backwards
.

Don’t paddle -
- pole instead. You’ll see more from that vantage point and spend more time going upstream (which means you’ll see everything twice and from various angles).

…life is too short to paddle slowly

Thanks
for all the great ideas everyone. I think what I need is more practice, lots, lots more practice. It looks like summer may finally be around the corner here in Montana, so there should be lots of opportunities to try the things you have suggested.

LEARN TO PADDLE HALF-FAST LIKE ME!
All my kayaking & canoeing friends concur I’m a really half-fast paddler, so if I can do it, ANYONE can!

Maybe not all the time, but a LOT of the time, being half-fast is a great way to

PADDLE ON!
