impex vs current designs

Amendment to the above

Gotta amend what I said - the Mystic is a great idea IF it can be inspected AND it isn't in the demo fleet due to being a second or damaged.

While many demos are first quality boats, it is also common for a boat to be relegated to the demo fleet because it came thru with a major quality issue that probably should keep it away from being sold retail. Not all dealers have good judgement on this one - there is a new Valley boat in our basement because of such an issue. Luckily Valley stood behind their boats and corrected the problem. I really don't know where Impex is at these days when it comes to a messy problem like that.

Impex’s warranty
is outstanding.

I am not sure how would Impex go about a used or demo kayak but when it comes to new kayaks the dealer that sold me 2 Impexes stood totally behind the product.

Impex (Canada) is very approachable and you get to actually talk or email to a real person that is knowledgeable and can answer your concers/question.

I wish all companies would operate like that.

might
also look at the new Valley Avocete LV. It’s built for your size person

Lightening the Mystic
Pop the hatches and carry them seperately (weight reduction = 2 lbs. 6 oz.) The Valley hatches work great but they’re not light. Especiall the oval hatch, although it makes a darn fine lunch tray at break time.

See you on the water,

impex vs cd
This is the only dealer in town, he has a fantastic rep and has done me right in the past. His warranty is if you buy it and are unhappy, bring it back and he will swap if for what you want. But I will be careful. Thanks for the advice.

My rack is a Thule Hullavator. Works like a dream.

Avocet LV
Neat boat, at least on the show room floor. I finally got to sit in one several weeks ago. It’s a bit tight at my 5’4" but close enough I’ll be paying out to rent one on a guided trip in the next couple of months to be able to spend time in it.

The problem is that they are still quite rare, even here in the northeast where Valley boats are pretty accessible. I doubt that anyone is going to get a deal on one like they could on the Mystic. And the Mystic has gotten a lot of paddlers going just fine.
