I've moved, and will be discovering new waters!

There should be plenty of fish.

congratulations on the move, well done !
hope you will post some pictures of your paddling, would like to see the land and water…
I follow an Icelandic writer on Bluesky, they post pictures of dogwalks among other things, and I do enjoy seeing the country…

yes, paid taxes to the apartheid regime in S. Africa until I could leave, now paying taxes to a similar regime in the USA, did not expect that and not liking it.
Iceland is close to Denver relatively speaking, direct easy flight and under 8 hours, hope to get back at some point - we visited in 2016 and had a fine time.

my son went to school on a music scholarship for double bass, and played piano… our house was full of music for some years, now he’s out and in medical school, and I miss the music

Some people just can’t leave politics out of the conversation, and yes, @watersprite did state a political opinion, but made no claim like yours. I probably shouldn’t ask these questions because we’re supposed to avoid politics, but you’ve made a very strong statement. What are the similarities? What current US policy is an example of apartheid? As implied by @Jyak, Why are you still here if you truly believe you live under an apartheid regime?

If you want to avoid politics as the forum moderators say we should, you should remove your statement. I don’t care if you do; I think it’s an unfounded statement with little basis in fact, so I can reject it as such, but you do you.

@davbart such statement need no clarification. Some people risk all to come here, some compelled to stay for the right to complain.

I’m not looking for clarification, I’m looking for evidence. I understood what he said, I just don’t believe it.

I don’t really mind the complaining that much, we’re Americans and that’s what we do. But, if you’re going to complain at least be factual in your complaint, and if your complaint is that serious; stop complaining and do something about it.

@Watersprite - Good luck to you. I am fortunate to live close to the Boston Baroque. I particularly enjoy Vivaldi chamber music and Bach organ works. I hope you meet some good players who will take you as their friend.

@davbart - Nobody owes you any explanation.

I never said he did. I simply asked for one, but he is under no obligation to give me one. If he chooses not to I’ll remain in my opinion that his statement was unfounded with no basis in facts and thus can be rejected.

The Boston Baroque is a great ensemble. You are indeed fortunate to be able to hear them often. Enjoy both the music and the paddling!

Volcanoes a rumblin’ all over town
gets tricky standin’ steady on any solid ground
where there’s glaciers a plenty flash meltin’ slippery slopes
but the music there’s less cluttered than where lands these blasted tropes

so let gyrfalcon whirl crescendos and arctic fox bark its staccato
as the grey seals join along and minke’s horn in their vibrato
and bow with this composition in new merger of the folk
to regale nature’s simplicity while delving deeper the baroque.

From a 4th Brandenburger (“It’s those recorders that swing me!”) try’n to move into Gustav’s Neptune (Too much fixation on the damn Red Planet’s bringins’ round here these days!)
