I've been using this lately -- orginally bought to carry water in a jacket pocket when skiing. It has a plastic sleeve that stays under the rigging when I slip the flask out. (I don't know how well it would withstand capsizing/rolling though.)
Edit: It has a nice curve to conform to your, er, deck.
a few more Foredeck day hatches (yeah, I know, but the gospel needs spreading)
flush hatch covers (particularly the day hatch)
Paddle float recess and rig on deck
Adjustable thigh braces
Adjustable seat height
bulkheaded ends of elf kayaks (things get trapped in those ends)
a process that allows construction of composite kayaks in once piece, eliminating the hull/deck seam.
More to come.

safety items wish list a large, radar reflective helium balloon with strobe on 500 ft of hi strength mono line that stores small, deploys easily.
a proper, waterproof and easily accessible means of carrying flares (ones of size that will do you any good).
sponsons.
…okay, i’m just BS-ing on that last one!
A BLADDER IN UNDERPANTS Why not a bladder contoured to your butt that fits inside your underpants with a tube running under your shirt?
The paddler’s weight would pressurize the system making drinking like using a water fountain.
The bladder would also cushion the seat making gelpads unnecessary.
