You don’t really need to festoon a kayak with multiple lines that could become a safety issue if you capsize. Just use a single line looped around a seat support and approach the dock the same way each time.

KF…It’s called a “breast” line as I recall from my CGAux days. I use it a lot on my kayak, and, center console.

I saw that same video, before when I was learning how to launch from a dock. I completely forgot that he tied the boat to the dock.
