Kayaking=smaller tummy

I don’t know of any information specifically, but I can tell you anecdotally that hard paddling is a great way to get in shape. I’ve played sports or worked out most of my life, but the most in shape I have ever looked was after a hard canoe trip. Paddling is like walking/running though, you get out of it what you put in. A leisurely paddle is probably similar to a walk, a very strenuous paddle is like a hard run. I think that going for paddles would also be good for your mental well being, you need to do some stuff that you actually enjoy in life. You could possibly look up professional or highly competitive paddlers and show them to your wife. I doubt you would be able to look at them and say that paddling for exercise doesn’t work that well.
