Yellowstone
Great place to paddle. Watch out for the afternoon winds. I have a 1951 OT Guide 18 in cedar and canvas. On the underside of the forward deck is a sticker from Yellowstone NP with a date of 1968.
agree with the bear spray reply.
Agree with you. They made an odd comment about talked into it, when they don’t realize everyone out here always takes it with them. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t carry bear spray. Its proven effective. When we head out in the woods, grabbing the spray is as common as grabbing the sun screen.
I didn’t realize you could rent . . .
for a future nigt at Lewis lake campground. That’s an excellent idea! Thanks.

We rented bear spray at Bowron Lakes, BC
We were glad to have it – and very glad we could rent it for ten bucks and turn it back in at the end of the trip.Never saw a bear. But . . . .
I agree about the bear spray too -
but, don’t kid yourself, there are bear encounters that can be very scary. I would be lying if I said that I am not feeling some extra stress when I am in grizzly bear country. I have, on occasion, carried a 12 gauge shotgun and a supply of slugs.
