Lightning and Kayaking

Any reports of a kayaker hit lightning?

A kayaker is pretty low, unlike a sailboat. I have only read one report of a Kayaker being hit by lightning.

He wasn't wearing a pfd! But survived. This was in a pond with a fishing kayak. The lightning hit the fishing pole, which was about 6 feet, in a holder on the kayak, probably another foot. (much higher than most would hold a paddle).

I have seen many, many more reports of kaykers killed seeking shelter, or in a shelter, being hit and/or killed.

I am wondering about conventional wisdom. As soon as you stand up, you are a better target. I'll keep googling.
