Good deal
You got yours for half of what I paid. Granted, I didn’t get it from the OT factory story. The P-16 is a sweet boat. Loads of fun to paddle solo and works pretty well as a tandem too.
No Jim
If they make it in kevlar you won’t be able to use it in those class II-III rivers.
The royalex is what makes it such a versatile canoe.
I just picked up my new (used) one today and “the bride” and I will be trying it out tomorrow.
Cheers,
JackL
Hey Dmako
"The bride" and I got to try out our new (used ) Penobscot today, and it is a keeper!
We did a five miler on a windy choppy lake at 4.5 MPH and were not even paddling hard.
It felt right from the start that we had paddled it for years.
I will probably remove the front seat and put a sliding seat in it so we can get it trimmed good.
I also tried it solo paddling it from the bow seat facing toward the rear, and even though it paddled nice, it was bow light so I will probably remove the center thwart and install a center seat just aft of it.
Hopefully you will like yours
Cheers,
JackL
Sliding seat
Sliding seat, interesting. Where would be a good source for these?
On my other canoes…
I have made my own, but you can get them from Wenonah.
Cheers,
JackL
