Thanks for all the replies. I’m relieved to find that the boat isn’t defective.

On to some of the replies. First,I haven’t noticed if the center of the hull is flexing or if it’s more towards the sides. I’ll watch for this on my next paddle. Secondly, those of you who suggested using a pedestal of some sort, do you mean between the floor and yoke? What material would be best to use? Lastly, I like the cedar strip idea and may use it if simpler fixes don’t do the trick. Lesson learned, next time test paddle the boat first! At least that way I’ll know what to expect. My concern was that the boat wasn’t suppose to do this.
