Mad River Courrier???

If you did it in your Od 14, you could
have done it in your Guide. But my point remains, those craft are only marginally suitable for such rapids.

I’m not no expert, I’m just an old intermediate. It’s my boats that make me look better than I am.

Marginally suitable…

I agree.
The Mohawk Odyssey was marginally suitable; I eddied out quite a bit & I bailed a lot. But I did the power house to the bridge twice, by myself. I would not personally advocate that to anyone.
I agree the Mad River Guide is also marginally suitable, but doable.
When I could afford it; I got rid of the Odyssey 14 & got an Outrage X, and then moved on to a Probe 12 II.

In the hands of an expert: I saw my Swiftwater Rescue Instructor Trainer run Lesser Wesser solo in a 17 foot, aluminum, tandem canoe, with one solid thwart, one broken thwart, one seat & no floatation in it. After he ran it, he positioned the beater to taco on the big boulder just downstream. Then he swam to shore & told us, "get it off; you can't use any ropes, biners, or pulleys". We did.

Also not an expert,
