Port Charlotte Paddlers, a nice way to have company and learn the paddling spots, put-ins etc. Not on your doorstep but not way far either from what I can see.

5’8" and 130 pounds - yes, you definitely should have an easier time getting over the back of the boat than me.

Thanks! That’s near me. I already also emailed a group that does water locally. I told them after I get some safety techniques down I’d like to join them. I’ll feel safer with a group at first.
