These fools, lol. Don’t they paint and repair plastic bumper covers, motorcycle parts and everything else plastic at body shops? Alternative could be a Vinyl Wrap or Elastomeric exterior paint.
I rough up the surface with 80 and 120 grit sand paper and paint with Krylon Fusion paint in a spray can. they made it to cover plastic. It will take several coats. Turned my blue canoe into a white canoe a couple of years ago. The varnished wood has faded and the paint is fine.
