As much as I am not a fan of Pelican kayaks, I’d hate to see them go out of business as they do serve an important niche in that they provide budget-friendly kayaks for newbies. Hopefully those newbies then progress up through the sport. Introducing new paddlers to paddling is never a bad thing.

No no, they don’t “infringe on patents” to run manufacturing in China, a foreign company can’t own the manufacturing facilities it must be Chinese owned. So VW who has plants in china does not own the plants, the VW plants there are fully owned by Chinese nationals. As for patents, well if you want to manufacture there you also have to sign over the patents to China Those patents must be wholy owned by the CCP for use in china. Hence why you see Chinese knockoffs of VW there. and Iphones. Atleast in the case of the VW they’re all previous generations and obsolete models so they really don’t care if china has the patent.
They bought Werner. So there is that.
There you go @Craig_S , another China Asymmetrical condition for doing business with China. You build a plant in China it must be owned by China Nationals and you must turn over all Patents to China for use in China and I am sure provide valuable design and engineering information. China builds a plant in another country, which they often do, especially Mexico, they have no requirements. But I was not referring specifically to patents but to industrial sabotage in general, stealing technology, which is widely reported and one of the main complaints of American Companies that spend a fortune on RD. There are also many Asymmetrical Tariffs in China that have built up over the years contributing to a massive trade deficit. Then when the United States creates Tariffs to even the playing field everyone cries “Trade War” including China’s propaganda machine. These are bad actors and the list is endless including Fetynal manufacturing and distribution.
Werner, Eddyline…next, the world.
Dang. No wonder its taking do long to get my new Kalliste.

Haas there ever been a case when it has not?
Sherwin Williams bought Prat & Lambert Paint, an Old School, high quality paint line. The Pratt & Lambert Chemists told them, that if they change their formulas they were all going to quit…They all quit.
