I don’t hassle folks about PDFs. I will default to saying “wear them” when asked by beginners - and wear mine - but largely out of habit - to have the pockets - and get the free boost when rolling.
I would never even mention it in person to you, JackL, any of the racers/ski paddlers, etc. I never stop the local beginner rec/SOT paddlers for safety chats either. I’m not the local safety patrol, they are essentially on beach toys and in swim wear, and most don’t speak english anyway!
