Taken so much grief
over the years from the rack fashion mavens for having tennis balls on the ends of my rack bars.
Celia, it’s great to hear that some one else has the gift of reason.
I carry
a kayak on J cradles and a 30" wide solo canoe on the 48" bars on my Matrix. I am using the Malone J cradles. It just barely fits so I think you might have problems with a wider canoe. Maybe some of the other J cradles takes up less room than the Malones. The limiting point is where the canoe hull contacts the mid portion of the J cradle.
Last weekend I got 27 mpg driving about 225 miles with one kayak and the solo canoe on the car.

I just put the Rapidfire on the Camry.
Looks like they were made for each other.

I remeber you were also driving a double cab tacoma when I first meet you.As for sporting around in a little car I went about a cheap route.I bought a low mileage 07. traded my truck in ,still had to take a couple grand out of savings, but I am not missing any of those payment.my truck depreciated 8,000 over 5years and 38,000 miles. While I was at the car lot a women was tring to trade a expedition in and they were only going to alow her 14,000 for it, but she owed 28,000 for it.they also had a call list for small cars that were traded in.times sure are changing fast.

I have a 2005 Tucson. I tried the yakima fit program and nothing comes up. I would like to use the bowdowns. I already have the 48in rods that I took of my 1990 toyota pickup. Which I no longer have. Any suggestions. Thanks Barry

You can ALWAYS use control towers and either tracks or fixed attachment points if there’s no ‘listed’ fit for your vehicle. The only issue is that you’ll have to drill into the vehicle’s roof.
